As the line is reproduced over and over, it changes and evolves – kinks, trembling motions and errors are exaggerated through the process. A Sequence of Lines Consecutively Traced by Five Hundred Individuals was first created as a tool to be used in conjunction with Amazon’s Mechanical Turk – an online labor market. Mechanical Turk workers were paid 2 cents to trace a line.”

Ever wonder what happened to all your old architectural models? The ones you left in the school archive because so were so busy working on your thesis you forgot to pick them up? The ones you stored in your parents’ basement because your apartment near campus was 200 square feet and full of red bull empties? Wonder no more. It looks like Daniele DelNero has rounded them up and put them on display. “My purpose is to talk about the sense of time and destiny of the planet after the human species, through the sense of restlessness which abandoned buildings are able to communicate.”

Honestly, some of my architectural models grew cobwebs before our megathon all-day crits were over. Talk about time and destiny and a sense of restlessness.

1890, from Fr. brouhaha (1550s), said by Gamillscheg to have been, in medieval theater, “the cry of the devil disguised as clergy.” Perhaps from Heb. barukh habba’ “blessed be the one who comes,” used on public occasions (cf. Psalm 118).
